Blue Ash Ceramic Mug

Handmade by potter Carey Berry, the blue ash mug is made with porcelain and thrown so the rings stay visible on the outside to catch the glaze. Carey makes the glaze by hand using a glaze recipe that her aunt (also a potter) used in the 1970's. The glaze is made with pine or aspen wood ash that Carey collects from her fireplace! Each mug is finished with an iron wash that gives them the exquisite gold microcrystalline color in the glaze. 

Due to the beautiful nature of something made by hand, no two mugs are exactly the same. Each mug holds approximately 8 ounces.
